Computing Requirements

w        Windows® operating system (Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows ME)

w        Minimum requirement; Pentium I, 200MHz, 32Mb memory

w        Optimal computing requirements; Pentium III, 360MHz, 64Mb memory and 4Mb video card

w        Graphics Card Settings:  High Colour (16bit) or True Colour (32bit) and 1024x768 screen resolution

Hydraulic Results Presentation

Any functional operation on hydraulic model variables, including use of GIS data can be built into waterRIDE™ FLOOD.  Current standard outputs, comprise:

Thematic Plots

w        water level

w        velocity

w        depth

w        hazard

w        velocity times depth

w        Froude number

w        bed shear

Thematic plots can be shown for any of the above items at any timestep in the flood sequence or for the peaks. Note that the peaks are determined for each item at each node independentoftime. Colour palettes for thematic displays can be readily created.

Animations

Each of the thematic surfaces can be animated with opaque or translucent colours and with or without velocity vectors. Note that the animations are not AVI's but sequencing of the timesteps with full capabilities of zooming and panning.

Time Plots

At any point on flood surface:

w        velocity;

w        depth;

w        water level;

w        hazard  (V x D)

w        local Froude Number

w        local bed shear stress

Profile Plots

Along any selected alignment the thematic plot surface and flow are calculated and the table behind the plot can be exported.

Flux Plots

w        hydrograph of flow across a selected cross-section

3D Slices

w        vertical slices of 3D results

Exporting

w        Export contours to GIS

w        Export surfaces to GIS (vector and raster)

w        Export screen to vector or raster image

w        Export nodal values as X,Y,VALUE CSV file

Hydraulic Tracer

w        automatic tracer

w        manual, step based tracer

Viewing Tools

Standard GIS viewing tools ie:

w        spot polling

w        zoom

w        zoom window

w        pan

w        refresh

w        layer toggle
